We went to Taman Pinggiran Subang USJ, last weekend to celebrate Alya Nadhirah 1st Burfday bash. Me and Ika (Alya’s mother) been friend through Friendster and Facebook as both of us have been admiring our daughters since Alya and Sophie truly have a similar face look-alike especially when they were freshie babies. Alya was born on June, 7 2008 and Sophie on August, 26 in the same year! We are making them friends!
Regrettably, we’d forgotten to bring our camera and I was a lil bit upset with such rushing day (we’ve got so many things to rally around that day). So, all these pictures are courtesy from Ika and taken from her photo albums.

Thanks Facebook and Friendster! Through these two channels we’ve found truly great friends indeed! May our friendship remains till the end.. =) muahhhh

Howdy! Such a long time I did not update my blog. Yeah, I’ve got so many works to do plus more new websites to handle. Every day is such a busy day for me – managing works and life. And Sophie has just gotten new cousin, Aira Nurdamia who was also born in Pusrawi on 31 May 2007. More less to say, in every single week we have so many occasions; from families visit to emergency cases to wedding invitation and thus no time for us quiescent at home.
lil Aira Nurdamia
As fast as time goes by, hey hey hey our lil munchkin Sophie has reached 9 mos old plus. Ok, I intend to write stories about Sophie’s latest development milestones. Cut the actions short, below are her latest achievements, counting from 6 mos to 9 mos old:
1. Sing a song! – Do you remember about my previous entry? I did mention about Cleopatra Stratan song, didn’t I? She is a petite Romanian kid. You never heard the song? Click here for the music. Actually, mamazilla using this song as her caller ringtone and also for her sms ring alert. Sophie must have listened to this song every day. One day, we noted she articulated ‘lalalalalalalaala’ rhythmically before sleep. We once thought, that was her new word for the day. Definitely not only a word, when mamazilla told me that she always tuned the song once Sophie cries. Sophie loves the song! No wonder she sings lalalalalalalalala before sleep. Guess what?? This song turns out to be her lullaby song before sleep, replacing Close to You by The Carpenters!
2. Clap hands – The story began when we went to Emmet’s birthday party. Once we arrived there, Lala, Emmet’s mother took Sophie to her lil Emmet. Lil Emmet kissed Sophie’s cheek and she cried loudly at the same time as Emmet clapped his hands. I saw Sophie looked intently at the way lil Emmet doing the clap hands. So, few days later she could do that. Day by day, she became obsessed to clap hands as she would clap during weaning, bath, happy, and even when she cried. To make sure Sophie knows about the purpose of hand clapping, we taught her the right ways to react. First rule, when clap hands must cheer up. And when sad, must mimic sad face. Haha, truly awesome that now she knows!
3. Shake head – Shake head meaning vice versa of nodding head! So when we asked question “Are you naughty?” she will shake her head. And same goes if we asked “Are you beautiful?” she will shake her head too! Hehe, Sophie seems unable to distinguish the real part of saying NO! NO! NO! Nevermind, this process will take some times. But one thing for sure, she will shake her head once she hears “Are you”, “tak”, “kan”, “no”, “did and do”…
4. Bang fingers sign – We could not figure out where she learns the pistol-sign-fingers and the best part is that she also knows when to show the sign. For example, if she is playing hazardous item (like laptop wires) babah will call her name a bit harsh and she looks back and signs the bang like using a gun! Very hilarious!
5. Stand up for longer time – Several months back, this action was timid! During that time, I was hurricane-ly panic when she simply bumped off herself while trying to move up and cruising. We had to put more pillows, blankets and other support stuffs just in case she falls down. But now, our munchkin has knowing well to balance her body when she stands. Sometimes, she utters her ‘words’ with swinging hands – just imagine a visionary political person giving a speech and that’s what Sophie does!! And she also is mastering the climb up skill! No time to relax, mama!!
6. White teeth are visibly seen! – Few of my friends’ kids (Sophie’s same-age-peers) have teeth by now! Sophie’s turn is kinda late. But it’s ok. Waiting time to teething, Sophie aggressively bites and suckles Mr. Brownie’s ears, hands and feet. Poor Mr. Brownie, he looks older than he supposed to be. We have also put away her emeh-emeh (pacifier soother) and up to date, Sophie has not using it for more than 2 weeks. Bravo Sophie!!
My cliché words are – can’t wait to see her growing up and w.a.l.k.i.n.g!
p/s: will upload Sophie’s photo very soon..

For few days mama didn’t get enough sleep (sleepless) since Sophie fell sick last week, Friday. That nite, her body temperature was quite high, 38.5 degree C, but still Sophie playing around like usual. When we noticed her body warmth turned heater, we decided to a nearby clinic for check up. On the way to clinic, Sophie intoned her favourite song “Cleopatra Stratan”; she could utter lalalalalalalala in the right melody similar as in the song. (Perhaps, I could tell u guys later in next entry, how we discovered it is Cleopatra Stratan song that she’s been admiring now!).
I’m not being racist, but my lil munchkin is easily scared of people with unfair-skin-tone meaning she would instantly snivel or cry when meet up with such people. Continue back to the story, we met up an Indian doctor and lil Sophie who was singing lalalalalala began sobbing once we entered the consultation room. Haahahaha..she was super duper cutey ! The doctor (I’m sorry Doc, we never meant to hurt you!!) was seriously checking my baby and consultation time took only about 7 minutes as Sophie pulled out his statescope as well as to a torchlight and made it hard for the doctor to examine her. I asked doctor about my munchkin condition, and he said she was only having light fever since no runny nose.
So we gave her paracetamol and vitamin C (2.5 ml of each liquid), according to doc’s instruction. Tomorrow morning, we monitored her conditioned, Sophie seemed weaker but her body temperature went back to normal. Both of us (those were very very young yet inexperienced parents done idiot decision) thought she was fine then we brought her to Masjid Wilayah- to eyewitness Babah best friends (kecik and Ena) tied a knot. After the solemnisation, we headed back home, and I quickly cooked porridge for Sophie before her medication, and at the same time preparing some dishes for the family.
I fed her few spoons then asked for my sister’s help to continue the feeding and with that I could finish cooking. After sometime, I heard Sophie vomited and scarily she puked and everything in her stomach was discharged through mouth and nose. My mind suddenly black-out-ed! I hugged my baby and seriously I couldn’t think of anything that time and only one person appear quickly in my mind and she was Mamazila ( Sophie’s nanny; our next door neighbour)! Coincidently, she was just in front of our house main door. She took Sophie, brought to her house, and put some water on Sophie’s head to low down the heat. Sophie cried calling for my name, and she was just refused to be taken by anybody else, even babah. I hugged Sophie tightly to calm her.
Terrible! Truly terrible. It was our fault -the fault which we have promised not to repeat again in future. We should actually stay at home, not going anywhere so that she could get enough rest. Shouldn’t we?
Hmm, on Monday (Sophie reached 9 mos old – 26.05.09), only we discovered that she’s having baby measles which is common to all baby. Rashes appear to all over her body but luckily it wasn’t too obvious. Following my mother’s advice, I showered her with coconut fluid and some shredded-kangkong water. Only wear holed shirts and pants. No lotion! No baby powder!
I’m lucky as my parents and my parents in law came here! So we are not that ‘alone’ to manage the baby measles. Alhamdulillah, she has recovered today! She woke up this morning, cheerily like she usually does and asked me to play with her!! Sophie mama love U! Babah loves u too.
XOXOXOXO Sophie.

I went to a majlis bacaan Yassin, arranged by people in my neighborhood area. As usual, during Yasin recites, we put some water in a container and put the container in the middle of crowds with a hope to get Barkat from the surah. I went there together with Sophie’s nanny whom now is called Mamazila (not Godzilla) by Sophie. Once I arrived there, people looked at me bizarrely. Yes I knew why, – that was my first time turned up in a feast among these neighbours throng.
I brought Sophie together as I wish her to get used in such situation if happen sooner I’ll be joining kind of event again. These crowd people were gazing at us mother and baby, and started to hugs and kisses Sophie, but she was so bumpy and began crying. Then one of them asked me, how old Sophie is. I told her that Sophie was 8 mos going to 9 mos. She asked me whether Sophie can walk and I said, nope as she could only stand up for few seconds then collapse, nevertheless she could walk if she supported her hands all the way at sofas while cruising.
Then this mak cik with such smugness face pointed to her little 9 months daughter who can already walk when she was 8 mos plus. Zappp, suddenly I felt pity for Sophie that she hasn’t gone to that level as seeing the little girl (even though she was older) was emaciated-petite if compared to my tall-chunky Sophie.
Went back home, I told babah about the scene and we both agreeable to teach Sophie walk using her Stefie (which can be transformed into a roller-pusher if we take out the seat). We once thought that such stimulation would quicker her development milestone. Started from that day, we taught Sophie to make footsteps but she’d rather stood up on her toes. We couldn’t take even 5 minutes to accomplish the lesson since Sophie would cry for sit to cruising.
Until today I discover the truly things, I promise myself not to pursue the stimulation again! Thus, I’ve a very important message that I wish to stress to all anxious mommies out there. A myth the-faster-a baby–can-walk-the–better-physical body–and-mind–she-has is totally WRONG!!!

Babah, Sophie and mama
We were having burger in Burger King, Mid Valley megamall on one fine weekend. Sophie sat in a booster, and tried to eat by herself like others do. We spent time together after such long time not making footsteps in Mid Valley. It was very hard to put her in a stroller as she prefers us to cuddle her up so that she could view the surroundings.
Scroll down to view her pixs..

Edie Sedgwick and Bob Dylan..Edie you were very beautiful..
I heart Edith Minturn Sedgwidck a.k.a Edie Sedgwick! I love her, the 60’s iconic model, and she was among models legend where retrofit fashion came with black legging and knitted hat! I really wanted to dress Sophie as Edie alike (but obviously without thick make up base) since I’m forever unable to wear a black legging..sob.. sob sob..
Edie and the factory producer..Andy Warhol and somebody..
Undeniably, very difficult to find a black legging for our baby! What offered in Malaysia’s market only available in white and pink colors! Finally I found it when we were out for shopping in Subang. And now, I’m thinking of doing a hair makeover for Sophie…it’s time constraint to upload her pictures…But sure I will, soon! Okay, Sophie has currently moving up up and up…she is trying to stand freely but still imbalance. Perhaps, she could start walking early, and then we can take her out jogging.
Look at my little kiddy princess down there…the black legging girl is moving up..=)
never that easy for me to pulling up..move up!
i love standing..hehehe

I came across to an article about the process of withdrawing infant formula milk and instituting babies’ nourishment with other food. I love reading about baby’s development and when I found out this piece of writing, my mind scream hysterically as we had mistakenly understood the weaning routes our baby should have.
According to The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), solid foods should be introduced to baby around six months of age to ensure she receives proper nutrition. However, keep in mind there are a number of foods that we should not give to our baby until she is older, including:
Talking about allergies, I had a chance to visit an allergy convention together with my superior somewhere in Bandar Utama last few months. We were there to meet our client, who is the organizer of the event. While waiting delegation to wrap up their presentation, I approached a N**t** booth just to look around their products and I asked them about their infant formula milk (which I thought maybe good to change current milk to their brand). They gave me a very detail booklet, – about their scientific research and bla –bla –bla of their formula milk which is also allergy free tested! So once I went home, I told Babah that we should change Sophie’s current *2* Gold to this *a* by N**t**. Then we bought that so called allergy-free formula milk.
Regrettably, Sophie didn’t really into this milk and her stools became worse and she continuously having diarrhea. What a waste! And pity to my lil’ girl! Babah blamed me for my immediate-jump-to-conclusion-sense and said our baby is not an experiment thingy (My bad, as before that, I told him about the scientific research of this product that sounds incredibly convincing!). Later we changed back to the initial brand. I got lessons; the best researched brand doesn’t mean it suits Sophie’s stomach well, in fact the allergy-free term used was merely turned into endangered toxic.
I got another story to share! I have a friend whose son (aged 9 months) refuses to drink milk (whatever named milk), as his grandparents often give him junk food with a reason “Alah, just give him some to taste”. The “some-to -taste” idea has swiftly cultivating his habitual action to taste more and more. End up, he refuses to drink milk, loves eating junks and these have really made his mother fall in great apprehensiveness.
In a nutshell, foods and solids reflect the inner growth of babies’ brain. As mothers; we should select the best nutritious solids for our babies during this momentous milestone. YES, please avoid the allergens and do plan properly for your loved angels!
