Sophie and her uncontrollable scenes ~ The latest development milestones

Howdy! Such a long time I did not update my blog. Yeah, I’ve got so many works to do plus more new websites to handle. Every day is such a busy day for me – managing works and life. And Sophie has just gotten new cousin, Aira Nurdamia who was also born in Pusrawi on 31 May 2007. More less to say, in every single week we have so many occasions; from families visit to emergency cases to wedding invitation and thus no time for us quiescent at home.

01062009507lil Aira Nurdamia

As fast as time goes by, hey hey hey our lil munchkin Sophie has reached 9 mos old plus. Ok, I intend to write stories about Sophie’s latest development milestones. Cut the actions short, below are her latest achievements, counting from 6 mos to 9 mos old:

1. Sing a song! – Do you remember about my previous entry? I did mention about Cleopatra Stratan song, didn’t I? She is a petite Romanian kid. You never heard the song? Click here for the music. Actually, mamazilla using this song as her caller ringtone and also for her sms ring alert. Sophie must have listened to this song every day. One day, we noted she articulated ‘lalalalalalalaala’ rhythmically before sleep. We once thought, that was her new word for the day. Definitely not only a word, when mamazilla told me that she always tuned the song once Sophie cries. Sophie loves the song! No wonder she sings lalalalalalalalala before sleep. Guess what?? This song turns out to be her lullaby song before sleep, replacing Close to You by The Carpenters!

2. Clap hands – The story began when we went to Emmet’s birthday party. Once we arrived there, Lala, Emmet’s mother took Sophie to her lil Emmet. Lil Emmet kissed Sophie’s cheek and she cried loudly at the same time as Emmet clapped his hands. I saw Sophie looked intently at the way lil Emmet doing the clap hands. So, few days later she could do that. Day by day, she became obsessed to clap hands as she would clap during weaning, bath, happy, and even when she cried. To make sure Sophie knows about the purpose of hand clapping, we taught her the right ways to react. First rule, when clap hands must cheer up. And when sad, must mimic sad face. Haha, truly awesome that now she knows!

3. Shake head – Shake head meaning vice versa of nodding head! So when we asked question “Are you naughty?” she will shake her head. And same goes if we asked “Are you beautiful?” she will shake her head too! Hehe, Sophie seems unable to distinguish the real part of saying NO! NO! NO! Nevermind, this process will take some times. But one thing for sure, she will shake her head once she hears “Are you”, “tak”, “kan”, “no”, “did and do”

4. Bang fingers sign – We could not figure out where she learns the pistol-sign-fingers and the best part is that she also knows when to show the sign. For example, if she is playing hazardous item (like laptop wires) babah will call her name a bit harsh and she looks back and signs the bang like using a gun! Very hilarious!

5. Stand up for longer time – Several months back, this action was timid! During that time, I was hurricane-ly panic when she simply bumped off herself while trying to move up and cruising. We had to put more pillows, blankets and other support stuffs just in case she falls down. But now, our munchkin has knowing well to balance her body when she stands. Sometimes, she utters her ‘words’ with swinging hands – just imagine a visionary political person giving a speech and that’s what Sophie does!! And she also is mastering the climb up skill! No time to relax, mama!!

6. White teeth are visibly seen! – Few of my friends’ kids (Sophie’s same-age-peers) have teeth by now! Sophie’s turn is kinda late. But it’s ok. Waiting time to teething, Sophie aggressively bites and suckles Mr. Brownie’s ears, hands and feet. Poor Mr. Brownie, he looks older than he supposed to be. We have also put away her emeh-emeh (pacifier soother) and up to date, Sophie has not using it for more than 2 weeks. Bravo Sophie!!

My cliché words are – can’t wait to see her growing up and w.a.l.k.i.n.g!

p/s: will upload Sophie’s photo very soon..

Welcoming our baby Marsha Sophie Irdina bt Ahmad Salihen

Newborn Marsya Sophie Irdina

Newborn Marsya Sophie Irdina

I am so sorryyyy. It’s been close to a month that I did not update anything in this blog. Not about internet constraint, but it was just the matter with ‘time’.

On 26 August 2008, we both had officially become a father and mother to a beautiful daughter, Marsya Sophie Irdina bt. Ahmad Salihen who was born at Pusrawi KL, sharp at 9.01 pm. It was the same day whereby Anwar Ibrahim won the election in Permatang Pauh. Actually, that Tuesday morning, hubby and I went to Pusrawi on further check up after we pay a visit on Saturday before. We had a lot of plan on buying things to complete our baby necessities following the check up trip. As the baby come as our utmost priority, we headed to Pusrawi first.

After urine test, Dr. Salleh wanted to confirm whether I was ready for labor or not. He also said that, if any dilation happened, I could get warded. Hubby and I looked at each other and half worried. OMG, we were not prepared physically and mentally. I tried to convince myself,-> oh it’s not the day yet!. After the scrutiny, Dr.salleh smiled and said, “Ok..Get ur things up because you will be sent to a labor room. It’s already open. 2 cm ! Hmm, if everything in good position, you will deliver this evening..Around 5-6 pm”

What! That time we were truly paranoid. How come the dilation could happen in fact I didn’t get any sign, alarm or whatever pain. It was sharp 10.00 am. There came an attendant with a wheelchair and he was ready to get me on the chair. Hehehe..Suddenly, I felt very funny, when people around looked at me. Before I entered the consultant room, I was the one who actively walking here and there at the waiting hall. They must wonder why and what actually had happened to me.

Saturday before, we went to labor room for CTG scan but on that Tuesday, I was really admitted to the labor room and geared up to deliver our baby. A nurse came and checked again, whewww so fast as the dilation became 3 cm. She put something in me, to cleanse every stool and urine I had. I was given an epidural injection, huuhu, it was terribly pain but thereafter I didn’t suffer the contraction pain. My half body seemed paralysed .Babah rushed to our home to get all things even though Sophie’s goodie bag already placed in our car. He was also busy smsed our family, relatives and friends like it was a critical time for me. My in laws fly from Sandakan on emergency trip, my parents prepared with tickets to come on the next day. My sibling and friend keep on calling and sms. I handed the entire task to hubby as I was weak lying on bed, sleepy with the doses of drugs given to me.

My cervix dilation was still at 5 cm from 12 afternoon till 5.30 pm. So nurses help the dilation progress with few bottles of drip. I don’t know what contained in the bottles but I know that they were used to express the process. Babah stayed together with me in the labor room, he went out only for prayers. He made a remedy to ease the pain – Miracle water that we called air selusuh, read with selawat shifa’, and few surah from Al-Quran. I knew, he was nervous but nothing could compare my feeling that time.

Finally, I felt the contraction pain. Only mild pain (if not because of Epidural, I would scream and shouted, I guess). I felt like something was going out through the cervix. I told hubby and he called a nurse. Oh, at last the cervix was 10 cm opened. They prepared the labor apparatus and that situation was relax and peace. Dr. Salleh already in and he notified me on when to push out and breath. I am a fast learner! 8.50pm we started the release and 9.01pm, I had successfully push out our baby with the support from hubby, Dr. Salleh and all nurses. Alhamdulillah. When we heard Sophie’s first cry our tears of joy dropped too. Hubby whispered to my ear, thanks mama. I love u. wheww. Sophie weighed 2.98kg and her height was 52 cm.

It was really amazing and my case was definitely different from what I have read in books and heard about others experience. Overall, it took 9 hours for me to have our baby breath in the real world air. I love the pregnancy time but labor time was scary. However, I intended to undergo the process as it was a beautiful journey of sting. No pain, no gain!

Our 9th check up on 9 August 2008 ~ Congrats Awa for the arrival of her charming baby boy Qaid Uwais on 08.08.08

Awa and Qaid
Awa and Qaid

I received sms from Awa that she had safely delivered a baby boy at 7.22 am in the morning on Friday, 08.08.08. It was a normal child birth. Awa was my best friend (she is still =)) back in our primary school (standard 3 and 4). We used to be close friends hanged out together, playing around at beaches, the frequent visitors of saloon kak Anita à(we even had Siamese name too!!), spent our times on arcade video games and etc. Time flies so fast and now, both of us has become a mother. Obviously she is but my turn will come soon!

Since my pregnancy has reached to its final stage, the check up has to be done on weekly basis. This week on 9 August 2008, my body increased 300g and our baby weighed is approximately 2.5kg. I got another injection and this made the tetanus immunization completed.

Just nice we were there as Awa delivered her baby at Pusrawi too. After check up, we went to Post Natal ward (Wad Annur) to visit her. I met her parents in law as well as her husband and we stopover there almost 2 hour’s chit chatting. They gave us advices to book room the earliest possible as they had a very bad experience on getting a room that day. Hence, babah had a lesson to consider about mama’s hospitality once mama gets ready to deliver the baby. =)

We went home thereafter. A huge of hope appear in my mind to have a safe journey of delivery.

Aju and her newborn baby – Adeef Feizal

Congratulations to Aju n Abang Danny! On 24 May 2008, Aju had safely delivered a cute and healthy baby boy named Adeef Feizal (not sure the spelling correct or not) after 12 hours suffering labor pain. Whew, it sounds scary, and since her mother-will was there, she had successfully overcame the pain and gained her spirit to keep pushing Adiff out the womb! How I salute Aju and all mommies out there. Normal birth isn’t easy and yet it is terribly painful!

Adiff Feizal

See he is sucking his thumb

She was admitted on Friday, at where her water bag broke! Kak Ida, and me were busy SMSing each other praying that Aju would be fine and the baby inside safe too! Only on 24th, I received sms that everything went fine! Alhamdulillah.

Yesterday, we visited Aju n her baby in PPUM! Accompanied by Fizah and Kak Lin, I felt it was like a small gathering (but tak syiokk coz our always-be-mastermind – ->Kak Ida wasn’t there as she went to Malacca with her family). Seronok betul seeing Aju n her baby plus her hubby Abg Danny, because we all very curious to hear their experiences – - > the chronicles of how Adeef was born out to this world! All panic, anxiety, worries, and 1001 feeling they have had, made me believe that I might face it someday! Babah also asked the couple about their experience and I noticed Babah was trying to put himself in that situation. I guess we’re both kind of scared of what’s going to happen once our baby is going to be born! Huhu

Auntie Im wanna kiss Adiff
Auntie Im wanna kiss Adeef..see my baby bump..!

A little additional notes of my current condition! Since my uterus grows even larger, it has press more on my back and pelvis, which had cause periodic shooting pains in my lower back and legs. I’ve tried stretching, switching positions during asleep as well as taking a warm bath to relieve the stress. The pressure is more on my bladder and I am actively practicing Kegel Exercise to strengthen my pelvic floor muscles.

Approximately 3 months to go ! 3 months are just a ‘short time’ – -> according to Aju. Hmm, it’s time for both of us to be more prepared!

It’s Yoga Time!!

I heard, my previous work colleague Ms. Nadhiah Noran had safely delivered a cute baby girl named Raja Sarah Batrisya Putri bt. Raja Ahmad Kamal. Normal childbirth, I guess. I saw the baby pictures in her father’s frensta and so I become more excited to pursue this wonderful journey. I have a few lists of friends, waiting time to deliver babies and I do have few friends carrying little one like me. In chat messenger 80% of our topics lingered about pregnancy. We were anxiously sharing the upcoming-faced moments that usually trigger a nervousa feeling for mommy to be. Those jitters had actually made me more prepared with some revisions from baby care books and magazines. I am most thankful to hubby because he is the main supporter in our biggest “life-event” to kick away my sense of “aloneness.”

Looking at my baby counting day’s ticker, I noticed that my baby is at 16 weeks of ages. She/he will be kicking me soon. (Honey, kicking mama’s belly while you are inside the womb, that’s nevermind! If outta the womb’s world mama then will give u a rattan!). Hehe. I know it must be a very touched moment if baby reacts in that way. Come on faster “those few days”. I really wanna feel it! I perpetually ask hubby to put his ear to my belly. He will then jump away, acting like our baby is kicking him toughly. Babah makes jokes and speaks to baby everyday especially when I’m having sort of queasy feel.

Believe it or not, I am now informally involved in yoga. Though, I am not professionally trained I am so much in love in this ‘reduce-stress meditation’. Few positions of Yoga that I learnt from a book as well as a short session in gym (last year) are:

1. Sukhasana (Cross-legged postures, inhale and exhale calmly),
2. Vajrasana (Sit kneeling. Slip toes to join at the back, heels apart. Inhale and exhale calmly)
3. Utkatasana (Exhaling, lower body to squating position, thighs pressing calves)
4. Gomukashana – (Raise right arm and catch left arm which is turned upwards from behind the back, then clasp hands by locking the fingers).

Sukhasana is the expansion given to the hip joint to aid in flexibility. This is a simple yoga pose and a must try exercise to all stressors. Vajrasana is benefited for legs and thighs. This pose is more likely Japanese courtesy of sitting style. I like this pose too, but rather not to do it more than 5 minutes. Utkatasana is a squatting position. I normally use a chair to practice and when the backaches come, I quit. But somehow, it is good for thighs and pelvic muscles. According to the yoga booklet, this pose could be practice if I feel comfortable and stop should any complicacy arises. Gomukashana, remembered me the activity that normal done before ‘lompat bintang’ in Pendidikan Jasmani class back in primary school. What I do is raising my right arm and catch left arm, turned upwards to the behind of my back body. Then I clasp hands by locking the fingers and inhale and exhale calmly. For safety reason, no ‘lompat bintang’ is done after that! =)

There are lots of poses in yoga. But these 4 positions are my main compulsory activities after office work (so-called main?). I reach home at 5.00 pm with no massive traffic jammed blowing my head. Reached at home with nobody around, I decided to spare my time with yoga. If too tired, I rather take a nap and zzzz. Hehehe. I hope all readers (specially expectant mother) try to practice yoga and use it a stress-free remedy. It is so self-satisfying when you could relax your mind and body plus nurturing the baby. I strongly encourage you to get professional yoga help training to avoid any kind of possible complications in future.
